For Physiotherapy

  1. Contact Your Insurer: Check whether you can see a physiotherapist under your policy.

  2. GP Referral (if required): Get in touch with a GP if your insurer tells you they need a GP referral. Skip this step if you can self-refer.

  3. Quote Our Clinic: Quote our name, the name of your therapist, or our Provider Number to your insurer to authorise your treatment with us. (Provide details for quoting)

  4. Booking Information: Call, chat or email us to book! We will need:

    • The name of your insurer

    • Your membership number

    • The authorisation code

    • The number of sessions approved

    • Your excess amount

For Other Services (e.g. Sports Massage, Acupuncture)

  1. Contact Your Insurer: Check whether you can see a physiotherapist for the specific treatment you require, under your policy.

  2. Repeat steps 2-4 above as required: Please be aware there may be differences in insurance coverage or therapist accreditation requirements depending on your policy.

Healthcare Insurance FAQs

How do I know if my health insurance covers physiotherapy sessions?

To determine if your health insurance covers physiotherapy, you should first review your policy details or contact your insurance provider directly. Look for information on outpatient physical therapy services, any referral requirements, and specifics about deductibles and copayments. Our clinic can also assist by providing a preliminary check based on our experience with various insurance plans.

Will I need a referral from a doctor to start physiotherapy?

This depends on your insurance plan. Many insurers require a referral from a primary care doctor or specialist for physiotherapy to be covered. However, some plans allow direct access to physiotherapy services without a referral. We recommend checking with your insurance provider or letting us help you understand your plan’s requirements.

What should I do if my insurance has a limit on the number of covered physiotherapy sessions?

If your insurance plan limits the number of physiotherapy sessions, it’s crucial to discuss this with your physiotherapist. We can create a treatment plan that maximises your covered sessions and explores options for continued care if necessary. Sometimes, documentation of progress and necessity can extend the limit, which we can assist with.

Can I receive physiotherapy if I have not met my deductible?

Yes, you can still receive physiotherapy services even if you haven’t met your deductible. However, you may be responsible for the full cost of the sessions until your deductible is met. We offer transparent pricing and payment plans to help manage these costs and ensure you can access the care you need.

How do I submit claims for physiotherapy to my insurance company?

Our clinic can directly bill most insurance companies for physiotherapy services, simplifying the process for you. If direct billing is not available for your insurer, we provide detailed receipts that you can submit for reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance provider for specific claim submission guidelines to ensure a smooth reimbursement process.
